Case Discussion
Fibroadenomas are benign tumors of breast. They are common in women under 30, but may be seen at any age. They usually present as firm, well-circumscribed nodules with lobulated cut surface on gross examination. Histologically they are characterized by stromal growth with uniform and mild cellularity, with accompanying benign glandular growth.
This case is typical of a fibroadenoma with intracanalicular pattern (“intracanalicular fibroadenoma”), in which the glands are distorted and compressed by stroma and form mosaic-like clefts.
