Case Discussion

Usual type endocervical adenocarcinoma is the most common form (90%) of cervical adenocarcinoma and often presents as abnormal uterine bleeding or a mass. These tumors are almost always associated with high risk HPV and are usually well to moderately differentiated with mucin poor glands and characteristic pseudostratified architecture with enlarged elongated and hyperchromatic nuclei and apical (floating) mitotic figures.

Mucinous carcinoma, intestinal type shows intestinal differentiation and recapitulates intestinal adenocarcinomas. High risk HPV has been detected in this variant as well.
