Case Discussion

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a common locally aggressive malignancy associated with sun-damaged skin. The metatypical variant of BCC is composed of islands of cells showing intermediate basaloids/squamoid features. It often does not show classical histological features of BCC (peripheral palisading, stromal retraction), and may portend more aggressive behaviour.
