Case Discussion
Irritated seborrheic keratosis is a benign keratinocytic proliferation, generally occurring in older adults. Sections show acanthosis, hyperkeratosis with pronounced reactive appearance including squamous whorls and scattered mitotic figures. There is generally surface crusting. The appearance may be mistaken for well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
