40 year-old female with a firm nodule on forehead.

Case Discussion

Pilomatrixoma is a benign adnexal tumour of the skin showing matrical differentiation from hair follicles. Sections show a lesion composed of nests of epithelial cells including viable basaloid cells and obsolete "ghost" cells. The nests are separated by fibrous tissue containing calcification and foreign body giant cell reaction.
