Clinical History
The first section is stained with H&E. The second has been depleted of red cells and stained with PAS. The red pulp refers to the cords of cells and the splenic sinusoids that lie between the areas of white pulp. It is called the red pulp because it is very heavily infiltrated with red blood cells.
