Case Discussion
Gangliogliomas are benign tumours usually occurring in children and young adults. They are classified as WHO grade I. Microscopically, they are composed of dysplastic ganglion cells along with a neoplastic glial (astrocytic-like) component. The background often contains numerous eosinophilic granular bodies, which appear as round globular aggregates that ultrastructurally are located within astrocytic processes. BRAF V600E mutation is common. Prognosis is generally excellent with surgical resection.
