Heterotopic pancreatic tissue is benign pancreatic tissue found outside of the pancreas. It is relatively common and can be found throughout the upper gastrointestinal tract. It is most commonly found in the stomach, duodenum and jejunum. It is three times more likely to occur in men than women. Most cases are found incidentally, but it can be associated with pain, bleeding or infection.
