Clinical History

15 year-old boy with 12 month history of painful, enlarging mass on the second toe (proximal phalanx). Diagnostic imaging reported an enlarging lytic lesion with sclerotic borders with an impression of enchondroma.

Case Discussion

Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare, benign, intramedullary bone tumour composed of myxoid mesenchymal tissue and primitive cartilage. They are almost always metaphyseal. Pain is the most common complaint. Surgical resection is curative.
