Case Discussion

Leiomyoma with bizarre nuclei (previously known as symplastic/atypical leiomyoma), is a benign uterine smooth muscle neoplasm which can be mistaken histologically for leiomyosarcoma. The tumour shows atypical pleomorphic smooth muscle cells with occasional binucleated/multinucleated cells; however, neither increased mitotic figures nor coagulative tumor cell necrosis is identified.
