Case Discussion

This digital slide shows the typical features of a Schwannoma, a benign nerve sheath tumour characterized by alternating areas of compact spindle cells (Antoni A) and less compact, hypocellular/myxoid areas (Antoni B). The Antoni A areas also show the characteristic nuclear palisading (known as "Verocay bodies" - seen here) which is commonly described in this entity.
