Female Genital Tract, Uterine leiomyoma

Uterine leiomyomas are common benign smooth muscle tumours. They can become very large, and demonstrate degenerative change. Grossly, the architecture of smooth muscle fascicles can be appreciated. Microscopically, areas of hydropic degeneration can be seen.
