Pilonidal sinus is a chronic inflammatory lesion of the skin caused by keratin plugs and debris. This condition is usually found near gluteal folds. Histologically, it is characterized by a cyst or pseudocyst into the deep dermis, and may be lined by squamous epithelium with chronic inflammation.
