Case Discussion

In adults, bland subcutaneous fat necrosis is usually related to pancreatitis or trauma, but localized forms can occur in the breast, or be associated with panniculitis or embolic disease. In newborns, there is an idiopathic form possibly mediated by prostaglandins.
