Case Discussion

Bartholin duct cyst is the most common vulvar cyst. It is caused by blockage of the duct, leading to secondary cyst formation. Histologically, the cysts may be lined by transitional, low cuboidal or mucinous epithelium with bland cytologic features. Diagnostic clues include presence of residual mucinous glands around the cyst. Treatment is surgical excision or marsupialization, but can also resolve without treatment.
